x449.....worldly system and kingdom of heaven--w/regard to tithe
In the system of the world--the system of "the Gentiles" --people rule over one another, with money as their authority.
The kingdom of heaven is ruled by God, with His love as authority.
He is meant to rule over people who are bound together by love.
In the world, it is money which is the driving force. People work together to make money together--the love of money binds them together.
In the kingdom of heaven, under Gods' rule and authority--it is the Holy Spirit which is the empowering force--not money as is in the world.
In the OT there was a seperation to the priesthood--there was a specific tribe of birth which one had to be born into in order to be considered a priest. The book of Hebrews tells us specifically that this priesthood of Levities is done away with in the new covenant. And without the priesthood there is no need of an offering for sin to be made--there is no need for a specific group of people who have the task of offering up the tithe--the offering for sin--in a temple.
In the NT we are all made priests unto God--we are all the temple of the Holy Spirit--
In the NT there is no tithe, since we "are all one body, ne member ought not to think more highly of himself than another"--what gives any Christian the right to receive a tithe?
8* But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9* And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10* Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11* But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12* And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. (Matthew 23: 8-12)
The tithe presumes the concept that some member of the body of Christ is somehow greater than the others. That one member is the "true priest"--yet the NT Bible tells us clearly that we are all equals in the sight of God--brothers and sisters--and that we are all priests unto the Lord and that our temple is our earthly tabernacle--not a specific buildings of worship.
The NT is all about the heart--our hearts are changed by God when we meet Jesus, we worship Him in our hearts--our spirit is filled with the Holy Spirit--our minds are changed to the mind of Christ--and our ministry comes up out of these things--it does not come up out of a building----we are all equals in Christ--and therefore no one has the right to receive tithes.
In the world, the person who has all the money has the right to rule over others with authority. In the world, money is counted as authority.
In the kingdom of heaven--which is meant to be the operating basis of the church in the earth, only God rules, it is Christ who sits at the right hand of all power and authority--ruling over the church.
We have merged the kingdom of the world with that of the church. We believe that it takes money to grow the church. This is not how Jesus built Gods kingdom--neither is it the way that the church of the Bible operated. The money and giving within the church was for the poor--was for the saints--it was for everyone--so that none had any lack. It was for the poor and the widows--it was so that no one had lack--so that all could be operational parts of the body of Christ--so that everyone could operate in their priesthood--so that everyone could do their minsitry unto the Lord.
