x277......Power/Authority Scriptures.........

***note: When we look at all these scriptures which contain the word "exhousia" (meaning "the power to rule over") there is absolutely no example of one Christian using authroity over another. There is no example of Jesus exercising authority over the disciples, or the apostles exercising authrority over the people within the church. There is no command from Paul to the elders of the church to exercise authority over the people. Rather there is the doctrine of authroity taught by Jesus (repeated 3 times!) which states clearly that authroity is NOT to be used one over another amongst ourselves. The examples of authority of one man over another are clearly from Satan, or the wrong system (the kingdom of the Gentiles) the Roman government--as in the example of the Roman centurion.

Greek: Exhousia--"the authority to rule with power over"

17 ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10)

The 70 were given authority over the devil--to destroy the devil. The power of God is for destroying the devil. Christians are to rule over Satan, NOT over one another.

Mr 11:28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? Ro 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Ro 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Ro 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
