X04.05.........2Corinthians 3 to 4
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same
vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail
is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2corinthians 3: 14-18)
This area of scripture is speaking about the power and glory of the new covenant, as compared with the old. It says that when someone comes into the new covenant, they are no longer veiled before God--but rather the Holy Spirit can now dwell inside of every believer--God can be direct with each individual believer--God can give His instructions directly to individuals. The glory of God is inside of every Christian--the Spirit of the Lord, the power which dwells within us--having the effect of transforming us, into the very image of God--all by the Spirit of the Lord which can now dwell inside of every believer, since we have the blood of Jesus to cleanse our sin.
But what does this lead to?
The ancient translators of the Bible have put a new chapter at this point--but always remember, the bible was not written with chapters and verse numbers--it is one long continuous and perfect thought, from God, to us.
so let's read right into the next chapter...
1 ¶ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; (2Corinthians 4:1)
How shall this Spirit-empowerment and liberty which is found in every new covenant believer be lived out?
answer: (once again!)---"ministry"
the power of God, the glory of God--is not meant just for us to have and hold--it is meant to play out into ministry--service, which is directed by God, in each of us--out to those in need--to carry the gospel out to the world.
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because
he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to
heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19)
Jesus was a man, empowered by the Spirit--which lead Him to demonstrate for all of us, the ministry purposes that we are to follow after--to carry the Gospel--pray for sick and those in need of deliverance, to feed the poor--and to be set at liberty--the freedom to serve God and minister to these purposes, directly--with God's direct leading.

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in
craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation
of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (2Corinthians 4: 2-5)
the empowerment of the Spirit is for the witnessing of the Gospel...
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
The power of the Spirit is not for personal glory--it is meant to empower
your ministry---your Gospel ministry.
