1. Is it in the Bible?

2. What do we believe it means?

Christians should sow money into "the ministry" and expect a "harvest" (God will pay them back in a multiplied way)

3. What does it really mean?

this teaching is very close to what the Bible says (although it has been tremendously over-stressed by some Christian ministries as a way of raising money). there are some places where this teaching is misleading.

Biblically, Jesus told us to sow seed--in a parable teaching. He stated this was a very important teaching...

Mark 4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

However the "seed" that Jesus told us to sow was the Word.....

Mark 4:14 The sower soweth the word.

The teaching of sowing and reaping is Jesus' teaching and stressing to believers the importance of spreading the Gospel--and in fact the responsibility of all believers to be active in the Gospel. In our day and age we vastly dilute the message and hinder the ministry of so many when we believe the best most of us can do is give money to someone else to carry the Gospel.

Christians have been giving money to Christian leaders for centuries--and the Gospel has still not been spread to all people. the bible says all believers are to sow the Word and reap the harvest of men's souls.

to typologize this teaching is to ignore Jesus' interpretation of the most important parable
