1. Is it in the Bible?

2. What do we believe it means?

In our era, God has given the pastor authority over the church.

3. What does it really mean?

this is one of the biggest blasphemies ever committed by man. It is pure experience and tradition speaking and there is absolutely no Biblical substantiation to this idea.

jesus Christ is the Head of the Church..

Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

He is the only Potentate of the Church...

1Ti 6:15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Jesus is the only One who is meant to have authority over Christians.

God the Father gave Jesus all power and authority after his death and resurrection..

Mt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

God the Father gave Jesus the Church.

Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father--the position of power and authority.

He is waiting for the Church to follow Him.
